In the early 1980s, the period of the Jakopin brothers begins. At that time, Elan was led by the outstanding Dolfe Vojsk (1974-1986). The very first sailboat from their studio became Elan's most famous model - the Elan 31. In 1984, a Gringo, the E 31, was made in the zero series, which with the helmsman Dušan Puh in the same year became the world champion in "3/4 tons”.
